This Privacy Policy explains how Wishkister (the “App”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the App. By using Wishkister you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

Wishkister is a wishlist and gift-coordination app (including a “Secret Santa” feature) operated by Ilya Yushkov, an individual developer based in the Czech Republic. For any privacy questions or requests, contact us at [email protected].

2. Information we collect

We only collect data needed to operate the App. We do not use the data for advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

• Account & contact info. When you sign in with Sign in with Apple, we receive your email address. You may also set a nickname and a profile photo.
• User content. Wishlists and wishes you create (names, optional descriptions, prices, links, images), Secret Santa groups you create or join (group name, budget, event date, images), and the names of external participants you add.
• Identifiers. An account identifier (your user ID) and, if you enable notifications, your device’s push notification token.
• Purchases. Records of your in-app subscription status (e.g. Premium tier and expiry), used to unlock paid features. Actual payment is processed by Apple — we never receive your card or bank details.

3. How we use your information

We use the information solely to provide and operate the App, specifically to:

• authenticate you and maintain your account;
• store and display your wishlists, wishes, friends, and Secret Santa groups;
• let you share wishlists and invite participants;
• deliver push notifications (e.g. friend requests, Secret Santa invitations and draw results);
• provide and verify your Premium subscription;
• maintain security, prevent fraud, and keep the service reliable.

All of the above falls under “App Functionality.” We do not perform analytics profiling, advertising, or cross-app tracking.

4. Sharing between users

Wishkister is a social app, so some content is intentionally visible to other users you interact with — for example, friends can view wishlists you make visible to them, and members of a Secret Santa group can see the group and its participants. You control what you create and with whom you connect.

5. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of service providers strictly to run the App:

• Apple — Sign in with Apple (authentication), the App Store (in-app purchases), and Apple Push Notification service (notifications).
• Railway — cloud hosting for our backend and database.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers.

6. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account in the App, which removes your personal data and content from our systems. You may also email us to request deletion.

7. Your rights

If you are in the European Union / European Economic Area (including the Czech Republic), you have rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the Czech Republic, the Office for Personal Data Protection, ÚOOÚ).

8. Children

Wishkister is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit and at rest, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
